Psalm 150:

1 Praise the LORD.[a]
  Praise God in his sanctuary;
   praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
   praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
   praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
   praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
   praise him with resounding cymbals.
 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
    Praise the LORD.

By day I am a business man working as a Senior Director for an International Information Technology Consulting Firm headquartered in downtown Detroit. During evenings and weekends I serve Utica United Methodist Church as your Organist & Handbell Choirs Director.

I knew that church music was in my blood at a very early age. I began my musical training earlier than most and I was probably only one of a few three-year olds with a three manual pew. My parents have told me that as a small child I would sit on the kneeler with the hymnal propped up on the back of the pew while using the seat as my keyboard. During worship I would often assist the organist by vigorously playing my pew. Formal training began at the piano in the second grade moving to the organ in seventh grade. I served as organist for an entire service in the eighth grade and accepted my first professional church music position upon getting my driver’s license at age 16. My musical training has included receiving a BMus degree from Oakland University majoring in pipe organ performance and minoring in choral conducting and voice.

During my musical career, I have served five congregations prior to UUMC. In these roles I have had the opportunity to direct adult and youth vocal choirs, direct adult and youth handbell choirs, lead a praise band, and play many fine organs.

I am married to Evie, who is a Nurse Manager for Beaumont Health Systems in Royal Oak. Evie is also the Christian Education Director for another congregation. We live in Sterling Heights. Additionally, I am the son of John & Joyce Fox, members at UUMC.
